Hail Guest, we ask not what thou art. If Friend, we greet thee, hand and heart. If Stranger, such no longer be. If Foe, our love will conquer thee. -Old Welsh Door Verse

Ikea?
Does anyone have any experience with Ikea kitchen cabinets they could share with me. They're just what I want for look and price, but I don't want something that's going to fall apart on me.
I can't comment on their cabinets, but we do have a TV stand from them we love - it was one of the very few that we found that could support the weight of the TV and it looks very nice. We've gotten quite a few compliments on it.
We also just installed their Billy bookcase shelving in our living room and are very, very pleased with that as well.
I should mention that their shipping rates from online shopping are outrageous, and we actually got a better deal renting a cargo van through Enterprise than we did renting from Enterprise at the Ikea (we live about 45 minutes from our closest one, and would have had to take the Ikea van back all that way - we rented from around the corner instead)
Something else I want to mention - our local news just did a story on Ikea overcharging consumers for kitchen cabinets. The catalog listed one price, but the cabinets rang up by individual piece, and consumers were charged anywhere from $1 to $87 MORE than the catalog price - PER CABINET!! Apparently this was a nationwide problem as there was a glitch in their computer system.

I am a quiet person who loves my family, Disneyland, writing, stitchery, scrapbooking, gardening, history, reading. My favorite places are Eden, Utah and Big Sur, California.
We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over. - James Boswell, 1777
